We are not saying that there is not a place for outside financing, however it needs to happen when that cash infusion can be properly leveraged. Right now LeadMaster has solid cash flow, allowing for increased investments in research and development and keeping our monthly services priced lower than the competition.
Month-to-month vs. Long Term Contracts. Do right by the customer.
Most VC backed lead management, marketing automation and CRM vendors require their customers to sign a one or two year contract. Long-term contracts are contrary to the cloud-computing model, which allows scaling up and down as required. By contrast LeadMaster offers their solution on a month-to-month basis. Brownell went on to say, "We don't force customers into a long-term contract. If they like our solution they'll stay with LeadMaster. The evidence says that customers love LeadMaster because there is a very low turnover rate in our customer base. Why would we force someone to use our solution by locking them into a long term contract if they aren't satisfied? It doesn't make sense."
LeadMaster has many built-in features that others 'strap on' such as marketing automation, email marketing, call center management and workflow automation. Brownell compares LeadMaster to their competitors by saying, "It's sort of the Apple Computer vs. the Microsoft model. Apple creates a seamless solution whereas Microsoft just creates the OS. While the latter model may offer flexibility, all the pieces and parts of a complete solution don't always work well together. A well integrated product offering is the LeadMaster way."
An example of seamless integration is the LeadMaster business rules feature. The built-in business rules engine allows a business to configure the LeadMaster system to match their business process. Here's an example of a LeadMaster business rule. Every time someone fills out a landing page a new lead is automatically created in the LeadMaster system and assigned to inside sales. If Inside sales doesn't make contact with the new lead within 5 minutes, an alert is automatically sent to their manager. If they don't make contact within 10 minutes another alert is automatically sent to the manager and the lead is automatically reassigned. Once contact is made and the lead is qualified, it is automatically assigned to the appropriate sales rep for followup. If the lead isn't closed within 30 days an alert is automatically sent to their manager. This is a simple example. The possibilities are endless. It's a flexible system that is point-and-click easy to use. The business rules function is well integrated with the rest of the LeadMaster system.
As part of its expanding investment in product development LeadMaster is in the final stages of completing a new graphical user interface. Brownell explains, "The interface has been rewritten from top to bottom making it easier to learn and faster to use. The biggest challenge is making sure current LeadMaster customers are comfortable using the new interface. We are trying to make sure that everything is where the user expects it. We are also incorporating dozens of enhancements requested by our customer base. We are excited about the new interface and how it will benefit our client base. Customer response has been very positive."
