PulseTV announced today its emergence from beta in its Deal-of-the-Day widget. The widget is placed on daily deal websites through a simple snippet of code and a new deal is featured every day. The deal is changed automatically at midnight (central time).
CEO Jaffer Ali said, “We tested this program in beta on about a dozen sites we owned. We tweaked it many times to get it just right and have now created several format sizes for sites to choose. We offer national deals on name-brand products shipped from our own warehouse, so this is a nice additional revenue stream for daily deal sites who earn their living thru local and national offers.”
The daily deal widget represents another way PulseTV is liberating itself beyond the email box. General Manager, Anisa Ali (and Jaffer’s sister) said, “Email is still king, but without a doubt it is a crowded in-box environment. Our Deal-of-the-Day widget is another way to get great deals in front of deal seekers. The daily deal sites working with us get a nice percentage of revenues. Note just from the deal offered, but on anything deal seekers purchase on our site. The average buyer purchases 2.7 items when they visit the PulseTV website so our partner sites really get a nice benefit. We are getting a conversion rate over a respectable 5% for people visiting the first time from the widget.”
All sales are tracked through an independent third party, Trackingsoft, with each daily deal site having access to sales in real time with a log in and password. CEO Ali concluded, “Many of our former competitors in the deal space are now offering our top sellers to their subscriber base. Turning “competitors” into “compatriots” has been a labor of love for me. We never minded competition, but working with large and small companies in the daily deal space has been a wonderful experience. We figured a way to use our unique experience in customer service, fulfillment and product buying to our advantage in the industry. We look to find additional ways to work with the many companies in this space.”
