In addition to inviting Website contributions, 450years.com also contains a wealth of information on St. Augustine history, upcoming events, attractions, accommodations and personal videos. More contests are planned, seeking ideas for celebratory events and insider tips on discovering romance, history and fun in the nation's oldest city.

"Our SAHI members are committed to promoting St. Augustine and we decided that creating a place where fellow Augustinians can organize, plan, discuss, debate, and share what they love about their home was the best way we could help get the word out," says SAHI president Dave Brezing.

Ideas for the anniversary celebration will be encouraged with contests for the best submitted ideas for possible St. Augustine events visitors would like to see during the celebration. Personal stories of living and working in Saint Augustine, favorite attractions, vacation remembrances, videos, pictures, and other content are welcome, too.

St. Augustine was founded by Spain in 1545 and the city's celebration is being unfurled throughout the next four years leading up to its official anniversary in 2015. Notable events will include the Bicentennial of the Spanish Constitution in 2012, the 500th anniversary of Ponce de Leon's discovery of Florida in 2013, the marking of 50 years since the ratification of the Civil Rights Act in 2014, and the 450th anniversary of Saint Augustine in 2015.
