In his new book, “The Mirage of Dignity on the highways of Human ‘Progress’: - the bystanders’ perspective” (published by AuthorHouse), Lukman Harees takes a hard look at the responsibility of the world’s leaders to uphold basic human rights and social justice.
“The Mirage of Dignity on the highways of Human ‘Progress’” surveys the yawning gap between the rhetoric and the reality in bringing about dignity and social justice for humanity. Harees underlines the imperative need for moral progress to, as he believes, “…go hand in hand to make Man assume his due role as the trustee on Earth.” He calls bystanders to action, asking them to champion human dignity and defend rights against onslaughts from the greed of the elites in power. “This is the need of the times,” says Harees, “and what our future progeny demands.”
As Harees explains, “We no longer can tolerate the hypocrisy evident in the higher rungs of government and the indifference as bystanders in restoring the essence of dignity and self-esteem, which has been denied to the majority of humanity, which they deserve by virtue of our birth into the human family.”
Harees hopes his book will find its way into the hands of the world’s future leaders, making them duly realize their responsibilities in shaping a fair, just and peaceful world in the best interest of everyone.
