A new job board for the largest union in the country is on the horizon thanks to a new partnership by McGinley and Unite

The vision of unite4jobs is that it will become a valuable source of employment opportunities for union members throughout the UK and Ireland.

The largest union in Britain and Ireland, Unite is set to develop a new job board for its members using powerful software developed and owned by McGinley Group, a major provider of UK and European recruitment services. Combining the reach and the abilities of these parties will result in a platform that uses the best software in the market to result in a powerful and unique job board for Union Workers.

Employing over 250 people and supplying over 3,000 temporary and contract staff a day, the McGinley Group own Armadeira, a software company who have developed a cloud-based b2b data mining platform that targets websites and job boards. This platform captures job vacancies and market intelligence that can be used by recruiters to analyse, organise and pursue jobs in specific sectors as well as collating and reorganising them into specific and targeted job boards.
Unite The Union has over 1.5 million members across Britain and Ireland bringing together employees from a range of sectors into a community where they can get the assistance and advice to improve their working conditions. Building a job board will help them further enhance the scope of this assistance and bring more members into the fold, ultimately growing their numbers and continuing their development as the Britain and Irelands largest union.

CTO of Armadeira, Mike Griffin says, “We are building a new web service for Unite the Union to help their members pursue job opportunities. The unite4jobs job portal under construction will proactively monitor employer websites and job boards for available opportunities - the system will actively collect these jobs and aggregate them so they are easily searchable. Also on the portal there will be tools to help build CVs and where possible the ability to apply directly for jobs using an uploaded CV. These tools will benefit and help Unite the Union members who are seeking employment.

Following Mike Griffin’s comments, Colm McGinley, Managing Director of McGinley Human Resources had the following to say on the new partnership:

'McGinley Group is confident that our team at Armadeira have developed a market leading product over the past 18 months. We truly believe that this technology, in particular our AddCV functionality, will revolutionise the aggregated job board industry. We are very excited to have this opportunity to work with Unite and look forward to providing their members with an efficient and effective way of seeking new career opportunities or simply getting them back to work.'
