“We pride ourselves on our judgment to assess and hire people based on their skills and experience, not their employment status,” said Bob Luther, chief executive officer of Lex Products.

On February 19th, CBS newsmagazine “60 Minutes” aired a segment titled, “Trapped in Unemployment.” The piece focused on the United States’ unemployment crisis and exposed a growing discrimination against long-term unemployed job seekers by American companies.
“Platform to Employment,” a Connecticut-based organization that helps unemployed workers advance their skills through education and training, was featured for its achievement in helping jobless workers land new positions. One of the program’s ‘graduates,’ Diane Graham, who joined Lex Products Corporation as an accounts receivable assistant in October 2011 after over two years of unemployment, was highlighted as a “Platform to Employment” success story. The segment covers Ms. Graham’s story and her first day at Lex Products.
“Lex Products is proud to have workers, like Diane, among our ranks. We pride ourselves on our judgment to assess and hire people based on their skills and experience, not their employment status,” said Bob Luther, chief executive officer of Lex Products. “There are countless accomplished people out of work, through no fault of their own, and for companies to invalidate job candidacy based on unemployment is to cheat an organization of tremendous value. Lex Products hires the best and brightest and reaps the rewards of a skilled and first-rate labor force.”
Listed as the Inc. 5000’s72nd fastest growing manufacturing company in 2011, Lex Products employs over 200 people in Connecticut and California, and operates three manufacturing facilities in the United States.
