This was the most fun I've had doing a scholarship.... all you need is some creativity.

Vacancy.com, an apartment listing and search engine marketing website, is calling for submissions to its “So Fresh” Scholarship Video Contest. Students are asked to create a two-minute video demonstrating how their apartment/living-space is stylish, unique and (with a shout-out to 80s pop culture) “so fresh.” The winner of the $500 college scholarship will be selected through a series of voting rounds on Facebook.

Entrants must create and submit a YouTube or Vimeo video no longer than two minutes that creatively expresses the “so fresh” concept. The deadline to apply is 11:59 pm (MDT) on March 24, 2012, although entries can be submitted as early as February 27. Entries that comply with contest rules will be displayed on Vacancy.com’s “So Fresh” Facebook page, where they will be open to the public for voting until March 26. Because voting is open throughout the 27-day submission period, participants are encouraged to apply well in advance of the March 24th deadline. Entries with the most votes will receive merchandise and compete in a final round for the grand prize. Contest details and entry information can be found at http://www.facebook.com/vacancydotcom.

Vacancy.com’s “So Fresh” Scholarship Video Contest is the site’s second scholarship contest in recent months. Last November, Vacancy.com hosted a blog scholarship contest, asking students to blog about their ideal apartment for a chance to win $500 toward their education. Ashley Baboota, a Burke, VA high school senior, beat out more than 1,000 entrants nationwide with her tongue-in-cheek critical evaluation of Eagles Landing, a 280-unit gated apartment community in Charlottesville with resort-style amenities. An avid proponent of Vacancy.com’s unique approach to collegiate financial assistance, Baboota said of the contest, “This was the most fun I've had doing a scholarship.... all you need is some creativity.”
