"Riding the Fifth Wave: Mobile Cloud, Identity and Security" is a global research study set to map out the future of Mobile Cloud and Mobile Cloud Identity
Arlington, MA (PRWEB) February 24, 2012
Identity market intelligence firm Verge Research, based in Arlington, MA has joined forces with Quadriga Consulting, the UK based mobile cloud research consultancy. Both firms are launching a new multi-client research program designed to map out the future for mobile cloud and mobile cloud identity.
Verge Research provides market intelligence services to help actors in the ID marketplace capitalize on the convergence of cloud, mobility and identity through in-depth analysis and forecasts that add substance to trends. Quadriga Consulting, last year, ran Europe’s first Mobile Cloud Summit – that attracted some of the leaders in mobile cloud technologies to debate how mobility and cloud computing were coalescing to drive the fifth wave of computing.
According to Rudie Lion, principal of Verge Research, “The mobile cloud is forging ahead at an unprecedented rate. We have never seen technology adoption ramp-up at this rate. However, until recently, mobile cloud applications were mostly in the consumer domain. But there is evidence that businesses and governments are actively embracing cloud technologies and migrating more of their core functions onto cloud platforms accessible from mobile devices. There are significant implications in terms of identity management. Our research program will assess the directions that will be taken on mobile cloud journeys – in terms of managing security and identity – and will measure the ensuing market opportunity. ”
The global research study, called Riding the Fifth Wave: Mobile Cloud, Identity and Security will commence later in the year and will result in a new website dedicated to promulgating the research findings – and will build a user community focused on issues relating to mobile cloud.
According to Jeff Peel, Managing Director of Quadriga Consulting, “We all know that mobile cloud technologies are transformative and liberating. But there are real issues to be considered in terms of the directions in which this technology might take us. Businesses are currently being swept along. Consumer tech is usurping the traditional role of the IT department – and the concept of BYOD (bring your own devices) is permeating the corporate world. Our study will provide a route-map through the labyrinth that is mobile cloud.”
Sponsors are currently being sought for Riding the Fifth Wave. A full sponsor prospectus will be available in mid-March.
