Rob Savage's "Touching from a Distance" was announced as the winner of Four4 after the shortlisted top 10 films went to a public Twitter vote. Twitter users could simply tweet for their favourite film using a button on the Four4 website http://www.riverfc.com/four4. Tweets including the hashtags of the films were collected – with only 1 vote per video permitted.
Rob’s comedy short film was the clear winner after an influx of tweets including a vote from Channel 4’s “Rude Tube” host Alex Zane. “Touching from a Distance” received just under 50% of all unique votes – most of which in the form of Retweets.
Four4 is a short film competition run by London-based film production company River Film. Four4 challenged young makers to produce a funny film just 16 seconds long. Each entry consisted of just 4 shots, each just 4 seconds long.
With the help of a small production team consisting of Louisa Fielden (screenplay), Simon Higgins (actor), and John Leonard French (composer) - Rob’s film packs everything into those 16 seconds – comedy, romance and a touch of… well touching.
A close second place and winner of the £500 prize goes to “Love Sucks” by Dominic Pegg. And third plaice - the reel winner is “Charlie’s Odyssey” by Charlie Denholm who collects the singing trout.
Thanks to all tweeters that voted – it was a fantastic response making the first Four4 a huge success.
Four4 will be back later in the year with a whole new theme. Let us know what genre you’d like by posting on our Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/Four4competition or by tweeting us @RiverFilmLondon using #four4competition.
