IVANS, Inc. the largest insurance carrier exchange in the United States for 29 years, will join with hundreds of industry leaders on February 29, 2012 for National Real Time Day. This first-ever industry event was created by organizers of the Get Real Time/Download Campaign to promote the use of real-time technology among insurance agents and carriers, facilitating greater sales, efficiency and profitability. As part of the numerous sessions scheduled that day, IVANS will be leading two webinars that explore how real-time and download technology can speed up insurance transactions, reduce errors and streamline connectivity between insurance carriers, agents and brokers.

Jim Ochiltree, president of IVANS property/casualty services, said, “As a long-standing sponsor of the industry’s ‘Get Real Time/Download Campaign’, IVANS recognizes the importance of helping carriers work closely with its agents on how interface automation can play a significant role in improving business. We are excited to be participating in National Real Time Day, and look forward to listening to carriers and agents share their insights to help increase the adoption of real-time across the industry.”

In addition to supporting initiatives such as National Real Time Day, IVANS has recently announced the appointment of James Bany to a newly created role of agency relations manager. Bany joins IVANS with more than 15 years experience in the insurance industry with positions in field sales and underwriting at such companies as Cincinnati Specialty Underwriters, Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company, St. Paul Travelers Insurance Company and Atlantic Mutual Insurance. His role at IVANS concentrates on promoting industry adoption of automation technology and looking at ways to help agents increase their ease of doing business with carriers.

Ochiltree said, “IVANS continues to invest in the advancement of industry-focused technology related to agency-company communications. I am confident Jim will not only help to increase adoption among agencies and carriers, but he will help to transform their businesses through increased efficiency, greater profitability and stronger market differentiation.”

Since 1983, IVANS has been the industry leader in developing real-time solutions for agents and carriers that fit within their current workflow. In fact, IVANS Transformation Station(SM) has been implemented by more carriers and agents than any other real-time solution in the insurance industry. Today, this solution is integrated in 12 agency management systems and used by more than 120 carriers and thousands of independent agents. To further help carriers manage competing IT priorities and constrained resources, IVANS introduced Real Time Advantage solution earlier this year, which provides secure and scalable processing between solutions such as IVANS Transformation Station or ACORD XML-capable comparative raters and a carrier’s system.

During National Real Time Day, IVANS will be participating on a panel session of solution providers discussing what each is doing to ensure agent to carrier connectivity in real-time. This panel session will be 11:00am to 12noon eastern time and will be available via a web broadcast at ACORD.org. In addition, IVANS will be hosting two webinars that demonstrate IVANS Real Time Advantage which agents and carriers can attend, and will also be sharing best practices for achieving strategic value and expanding marketshare through the integration of automation into agency-company workflows.
