Personal Ongoing Motivation, LLC has announced the launch of POM Schools, an innovative new concept that offers students information on over 100 critical topics that present challenges to students ages 11-18, in their personal and academic lives. POM offers students in grades 6-12, positive guidance on topics ranging from bullying, online safety, including sexting and cyber bullying, parent’s divorce, grief, and alcohol and drug abuse, among many others, through a safe web portal tailored to the needs of the individual school.

POM Schools’ extensive and affordable materials include recordings and e-books covering seven topic areas: Mind and Mood, Bullying, Friends and Family, Body and Health, Peer Pressure, Safety, School and Beyond, and were written and reviewed by mental health professionals, as well as a well-respected team of educators.

POM Schools was developed to support the role of school administrators and school counselors and can be used independently or in conjunction with existing health and wellness programs.

“Given all the challenges kids face in order to achieve success in school and in life, POM is determined to reduce the ‘suffering in silence’ culture surrounding the next generation that is leading to suicide, poor attendance, anxiety and depression in our youth,” explained Daniel Sutton, President, POM. Schools need affordable tools to help ensure that every student feels safe, informed, nurtured and respected and has somewhere to go when they are experiencing a personal crisis.”

Through patent pending technology, POM makes it possible for kids to use the resources privately and anonymously through individualized coding. This coding protects the student’s identity but offers solid statistics surrounding the type of issues affecting the school as a whole. This statistical data will help schools and school districts determine the effectiveness of existing programs and will give them needed information in order to determine trouble areas for students. With the help of POM, administrators and superintendents will get a clearer picture on what issues require more attention and therefore, budget accordingly.

“Students in our society today are feeling more overwhelmed and stressed than ever. I truly believe POM is part of the solution to this concerning problem, said Victoria Burns, Ph.D., Adjunct Faculty in the Department of Educational and Psychological Studies at the University of Miami. “A school’s utilization of POM sends a message to its students that parents and educators truly care about their mental health struggles and wish to help support them. POM provides an important resource for students, parents, and educators who recognize that our mental health is crucial in our quest for success and happiness.”
