Outsourcing Portfolio Risk Analysis Creates Time and Cost Efficiencies

Risk Integrated, a leading provider of quantitative risk analysis software, solutions and consultancy to the financial services industry, today announced the launch of a new service that allows lenders to outsource their risk analytics for commercial real estate lending. Risk and portfolio managers can now send their anonymous portfolio data to the Risk Integrated team of analysts. Using the Specialized Finance System (SFS), Risk Integrated will analyze the data and create a detailed analysis at the deal-level for grading and loan structuring, and at the portfolio-level for stress-testing and Advanced Basel capital.

The service, which is currently being used by new and existing clients, will create time and cost efficiencies for risk and portfolio managers as there is no longer a need to build and implement in-house risk software or buy external vendor solutions.

In addition, by outsourcing the risk analysis of a portfolio, particularly the commercial real estate (CRE) assets, banks can meet regulatory requirements and quickly receive detailed, actionable risk reports that can be used to manage the portfolio, identify problem assets, test restructuring options, and report the results to senior management and external agencies.

“In an effort to reduce costs and implementation time, financial institutions are seeking to leverage outsourced specialist services as a part of their overall IT strategy,” said Risk Integrated’s CTO, Dr. Yusuf Jafry. “By allowing our team to conduct their risk analytics, institutions can focus their internal resources on core business functions to gain a competitive advantage.”

“Due to CCAR and the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and the Consumer Credit Protection Act, financial institutions now have a legal obligation to better understand and report their risks, especially the risk on their CRE assets,” said Dr. Chris Marrison, CEO, Risk Integrated. “At the core of our new offering is the SFS technology that has been used by financial institutions for more than a decade to create reliable, actionable analytics.”

The service is offered on a case-by-case or recurring basis, and meets the needs of small to medium size banks that might not have the resources to create detailed analytics of the risk in their portfolio.

About Risk Integrated
With offices in the US and the UK, Risk Integrated, founded in 2001, delivers a complete credit risk measurement platform to leading financial institutions active in commercial real estate or project finance lending. We provide detailed financial analytics that can be tailored to individual institutions. The analytics are made available to all users in a full web-enabled enterprise-level system. Over the years, Risk Integrated has delivered risk management and reporting solutions to financial institutions ranging from small regional banks to global commercial real estate banks, the World's largest bank and government agencies. Our proprietary Specialized Finance System (SFS), developed and refined over the past ten years, is also used by asset managers for portfolio management and optimization. Prior to using the SFS, the challenges faced by these institutions included limited ability to report on individual assets or portfolios, time-consuming stress-test reporting, and difficulty in getting grading models to give useful or meaningful results for specialized finance assets. Risk Integrated’s technology provides an immediate solution to these challenges and a solid platform for further development if an institution wishes to overlay its own views of the market.
