Irvine, CA (PRWEB) February 27, 2012
Sprout Healthy Vending, a national leader in taking the vending industry in a healthy direction at work, school and in the community, welcomes its newest operators, Mindy & Chad O’Leary. The O’Leary’s will be operating their machines out of Hampden, Maine.
“My husband and I stumbled across Sprout Healthy Vending when playing around online,” O’Leary says. “It was immediately appealing because the business motto was completely in line with our own philosophies and the example we are trying to set for our children. It just seemed like this perfect answer that no one had ever thought of.” The O’Leary’s instantly jumped in knowing this was the perfect fit for their family.
O’Leary continues, “I feel that Sprout is a fun program that the entire community can embrace and feel good about. Adults can feel great about making more nutritious choices in their daily lives that will benefit their overall health and wellbeing. Parents can feel good about their children having better options versus the traditional high fat candy bar or sugar-laden drink. Kids will enjoy the variety of exciting and delicious snacks, while learning that eating healthy can still be really fun and tasty.” The O’Leary’s are confident that the people of Hampden will be very welcoming of the healthy switch.
“We are extremely excited to offer healthy products to our community, and we are delighted that our community is receptive to moving towards a healthier lifestyle,” O’Leary says. “I feel that our market is ready for a big change when it comes to healthy vending options. Many schools have removed vending all together, as well as some businesses, simply because of the lack of well balanced nutritious foods. The people that I have spoken with are all very excited at the idea of having the convenience of vending that can still coincide with a healthy lifestyle.” Showing success already, the O’Leary’s are looking forward to placing more machines and capturing the attention of other communities that are looking for healthy alternatives.
Co-Founder Chris Wyland states, “Today the government is working on setting nutritional standards for foods that children can purchase in school vending machines. There haven’t been specific guidelines set up just yet, but they are said to be similar to those in the government’s school lunch program, which reduced the large amounts of sugar, salt and fat. These drastic steps have been taken given the large increase of obesity in children. With these new rules in place Sprout is sure to succeed in schools all across the country. We are thrilled to see the O’Leary’s come on board at such a great time and we are definitely going to be reaching out to some local Hampden schools.”
“We believe this concept will do extremely well in our community. I think Americans as a whole have shown that they are ready for a change. Statistics show that a staggering number of Americans are overweight or obese, and the number is only going to grow if we don’t change things. Schools and businesses have been some of the first places to begin making changes, implementing wellness programs, fitness programs for kids, and healthier food options. I believe that Maine is right on the mark with all of these changes and is committed to creating a healthier future.”
