Rap artist Crook Calhoun recently released his mixtape “Da Chronicles 2: No Intro.” Coast 2 Coast presents the project, which is hosted by DJ Stikuhbush. It is now available for free download. “Da Chronicles 2” features Crook Calhoun on tracks with guest artist appearances from Diamond and Huey. Production credits include B. Flat, Hoodzone, Cash Jordan, Jon P, Fleetwood, and Trakksounds.

The Chicago born, Alabama bred Crook Calhoun spits rhymes that are hardcore and believable, listing his influences as great MCs such as Jay-Z, Eminem, and BIG. His lines are created from his personal encounters on the streets of Chicago and Birmingham, AL, where he started doing music in 2009. It is here that he wrote, recorded, and released “Da Chronicles,” and “Da Chronicles 2,” both hosted by prominent Tuscaloosa club and mixtape DJ Stikuhbush (known for engineering 80% of Young Jeezy’s “TM103”). On this outing, Crook chose to work with producers who are well known in the Southeast region, along with reaching out to artists Huey and Diamond, who quickly jumped at the chance to work with the up-and-coming MC. “Da Chronicles 2: No Intro” includes 14 original tracks recorded with the streets of Birmingham in mind. Crook Calhoun is currently performing at shows around the Southeast in cities like Birmingham, Atlanta, and Mississippi.
