My kids loved the Scholarville characters and went back to some letters again and again to hear about their favorites."

Reviewer acclaimed iPhone/iPad app, Phonics Fun & Games, is now available in a “Lite” version. “Phonics Fun & Games Lite allows parents and teachers to try our app for free,” said Pre K Scholars founder and kindergarten readiness expert, Amy Schwary. “The strong worldwide response surprised us,” said Schwary. “We knew, based on the positive reviews, that the Lite version would be popular in the United States but we experienced hundreds of downloads in Europe and Asia in the first two days post release.”

Phonics Fun and Games, the 4-in-1 iPhone/iPad app by Pre K Scholars was awarded two top ratings in 2011. On December 15 BestAppsforKids.com gave it a 4.5 star and Editor's Choice rating and two days later FunEducationalApps.com made it a "Top Pick." The app is designed with visual clues and directions so that a 3-5 year-old can play the games and learn independent of direct parent involvement. The four games, Phonics Cards, Guessing Game, Trace & Learn and Matching & Memory teache kindergarten readiness concepts such as upper and lower case letter recognition, letter formation, letter-sound association, early handwriting skills and beginning word sounds.

The free Lite version covers only three letters, A, B, & C. The $3.99 full version includes the entire alphabet. Conceived by Schwary, former kindergarten teacher and mother of four, Phonics Fun & Games is intended to be fun and instructional. “Fifty percent of children entering kindergarten in the United States are not prepared,” said Schwary. I founded Pre K Scholars to lower that statistic by providing parents and early childhood educators with educational materials that are engaging and fun for preschoolers. Android versions of Phonics Fun & Games will be released in March 2012, probably in separate apps rather than all four in one.”
