Reading the inspirational books from authors such as Max Lucado and Rick Warren, participating in the “Purpose Driven Life”, and experiencing a life-changing illness lead George M. Goodrich to become inspired to write his new book, “Adventures with Apples and Snakes: From the Garden of Eden” (published by AuthorHouse).
“Adventures with Apples and Snakes” uses the experience of Adam and Eve’s fall from God’s grace to provide personal growth and to provide insights for group discussions. Throughout the book, Goodrich poses questions and comments to reinforce the idea that the break with God was not permanent and that restoration to His grace is possible.
“Humankind has a constant struggle determining what is right in the sight of God,” explains Goodrich. “Adam and Eve’s experience with the apple and with the snake in the Garden of Eden provides a simple way to examine the difference between right and wrong as it was originally presented by God to His humankind creatures.”
The book speaks of Eve’s “apple break” along with her conversation in the garden to serve as a basis for looking internally for one’s own motivations, and how those motivations can separate them from God’s original intent.
“God’s original intent was to have humankind be in His grace, and that restoration to His grace is possible even though humankind doesn’t always deserve it.”
