Specialist recruitment company Macildowie has been named one of the top ten small companies to work for in the UK and the best in the Midlands.

The business has been ranked seventh in The Sunday Times Best Small Companies to Work For 2012 awards, based on key people factors including staff satisfaction and engagement.

Macildowie has offices in Nottingham and Leicester also operating throughout Derbyshire, Warwickshire and Northamptonshire. It employs 50 people and specialises in HR, finance and procurement and supply chain recruitment.

It is the highest placed Midlands company to appear in the prestigious list, and its own employees judged it very highly for caring for team members as individuals, providing them with job security and crucially, ensuring they had fun at work.

Macildowie director James Calder, said: “We are immensely proud to receive a top ten placing in the Sunday Times Best Companies list. People are everything to this business and its success is directly correlated to the wellbeing and positive motivation of the team. The business is the best it’s ever been and that’s down to the people who work here.”

Macildowie, which counts Boots, Office Depot, Travis Perkins and E.ON among its clients, jumped 12 places in the last three years after ranking 19th in the Sunday Times list in 2009.

“This award proves how far the business has moved on since it was acquired by Synetecs,” continues Macildowie director James Taylor.

“We are stronger than ever, something we know internally but now it’ll be known externally as well.”

This prestigious award follows news of Macildowie’s £250,000 investment in a new recruitment management system.
