Plainview, NY (PRWEB) February 29, 2012
February 2012 – Acupath Laboratories, Inc., an anatomic pathology and cancer genetics laboratory, has announced the availability of the newly developed Acupath App. This free application is designed to improve efficiency by delivering pathology reports directly to the doctor’s smart phone or other mobile device.
“This is an exciting advancement that improves the value of our laboratory services to physicians,” said Dr. George Hollenberg, dermatopathologist and founding director of Acupath. “Now doctors can have test results right at their fingertips – anywhere, anytime. All a doctor has to do to get started is download the free app from the Apple App store and enter an Acupath user ID and password. Flexible search criteria make it easy to locate the reports needed. This easy-to-use app makes physicians more efficient and improves the timeliness and quality of patient care.”
Designed for use on Apple mobile devices, including the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad, the Acupath App can be used with WiFi or 3G networks and transmits data in a highly encrypted format over a secure connection in compliance with HIPAA requirements. Reports can be searched by patient name, by date or by period (e.g., past 10 days) and can be viewed and printed as plain text or PDF format.
“Most of our physicians are already familiar with these Apple devices,” Dr. Hollenberg said. “And the app itself is straightforward and easy to use. We're delighted to add the Acupath App to the industry leading services we offer.”
The free Acupath app supports Apple's iOS5 operating system and requires an Acupath-provided user name and password. For more information, call 1-888-ACUPATH (228-7284).
