The Project Management Institute (PMI) is a non-profit association that advances the profession of project management. The Sacramento Valley Chapter is the fourth largest chapter in PMI Region 7, an area that covers Hawaii, California, Arizona and Nevada.

“The foundation of Cheetah’s success is Cheetah Project Management, a fast and effective way to launch and manage projects,” said LaBrosse, who created the origins of the Cheetah Project Management methodology as an Air Force Officer in the mid 1980s. In 1995, she prototyped the concept of accelerating learning using “virtual classrooms” to accelerate the way people learned and applied core business skills.

As a corporate research scientist in systems engineering and adult learning for a large multinational corporation, she later created and tested a one-day approach to teaching Project Management. This approach evolved to become Cheetah Project Management.

LaBrosse was profiled in “A New Way to Do Business,” Part 5 of Robert Kiyosaki’s book “Rich Dad’s Success Stories,” in the chapter “Fast Learner.” She has spoken to a large number of audiences about a wide variety of topics in the U.S. and abroad.

A dynamic speaker and industry thought leader, LaBrosse was a keynote at AT&T’s annual Project Management Symposium where she received a standing ovation. She has spoken at numerous industry events and PMI chapters, and is known for engaging her audiences with homespun anecdotes and humor.

Among the topics LaBrosse addresses:

“Accelerated Learning: What Is It and What Can It Do For Your Business?”

“The Power of Project Management”

“The Need for Speed: How to Accelerate Success”

“From Talk to Action: Making ROI Real in Your Organization”

“The Mojo of the Mind: Mind Mapping and Memory Enhancement in Learning”

“Holistic Learning: From Nutrition to Exercise”

PMI recognized what LaBrosse and Cheetah exemplified, selecting her as one of the 25 Most Influential Women in Project Management in the World; and, in October 2008, recognizing her company as Professional Development Provider of the Year for the significant contribution it made with its accelerated approach to teaching and doing project management.

With a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering, and an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, LaBrosse has done extensive postgraduate work with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Center for Advanced Educational Studies and with the University of Washington Industrial Engineering Program in accelerating adult learning with respect to meeting core business objectives. She is also a graduate of the Harvard Business School’s Owner President Managers (OPM) program.

As a single mother of two, LaBrosse started Cheetah Learning from scratch and grew it into a multi-million dollar powerhouse in the Project Management education field, a competitive arena with 1,600 providers who are registered with the Project Management Institute (PMI).
