ActiveGroup, the company that originated video streaming for marketing research in 1999, today announced another milestone: Streaming for less than $1,000 per day.

Due to increased demand for researchers to lower the costs of their qualitative services and to efficiencies now built across its global networks, ActiveGroup Ventures, Inc. is now offeirng video streaming for less than $1000 per day. These new rates allow a broader range of researchers to take advantage of the value ActiveGroup video streaming brings to qualitative research projects.

“This is just a natural progression of our service,” says David Nelems, President and Founder of ActiveGroup, who returned to his original role in late 2011 after a 5-year hiatus.

“When we started ActiveGroup back in 1999, the daily rate was $1,750. While we have continually lowered prices based on a maturation of the technology, we are finally in the position to offer a day’s worth of streaming for $995.” Many companies still charge a much higher price for a single day of streaming, even when the systems are so automated that there is no need to send technicians to a facility.

“Market research is like any other industry,” says Nelems. “We have clients telling us that they are under continuous pressure from their procurement departments to lower costs. Allowing our clients to stream for less than $1,000 per day is just another way that ActiveGroup is responding to our clients’ needs.”

The $995 per day price for video streaming is a worldwide price for ActiveGroup customers, but many large volume customers may pay even less. Nelems explains, “The bottom line is that the more you stream with ActiveGroup, the less you pay on a daily basis. But we feel that breaking the $1,000 per day price for the occasional user just makes good sense. If someone is charging more than this price for marketing research streaming, you should really ask them why. Is their infrastructure not as robust as ours, meaning that they cannot operate more efficiently, or are they simply charging too much?”

With research budgets being stretched, the ability to include multiple viewers in the streaming is a big advantage. While a company would rarely send 7-10 people on the road to watch focus groups at a facility, ActiveGroup routinely has this many viewers logged in to access each of its streamed events. “The cost savings are substantial. A day’s worth of streaming is equivalent to 1-2 people traveling for one day, so the ROI for our product is phenomenal,” says Nelems.
