On February 8, 2011 Jillian A. S. Roman, attorney at the law firm of Cohen, Placitella & Roth was a presenter at the Actos and Pelvic Mesh Litigation Update A Plaintiffs Only Forum, sponsored by Mass Torts Made Perfect. The roundtable, which was open to plaintiff and defense lawyers, addressed topics such as "case selection;" "legal precedents;" "state and federal cooperation;" “medical and scientific studies”; and "FDA updates."

The roundtable, which was open to plaintiff and defense lawyers, addressed topics such as "case selection;" "legal precedents;" "state and federal cooperation;" “medical and scientific studies”; and "FDA updates."

Ms. Roman presented the topic of In re Pelvic Mesh/ Gynecare in which she discussed the criteria involved in filing a pelvic mesh product liability case, explained the criteria she employs in case evaluation, provided strategies for asserting and defending claims, examined the scope of discovery in today’s social media market and causation defense, and provided timelines for filing claims.

Other presenters included Paul Pennock, with Weitz & Luxenberg; Wendy Fleishman, Lieff Cabraser Heimann & Bernstein; Yvonne Flaherty, Lockridge Grindal Nauen; and Derek Braslow, Pogust Braslow & Millrood.

Ms. Roman is Co-Liaison Counsel in the In re Pelvic Mesh/Gynecare Products Liability litigation by the Honorable Carol E. Higbee, Superior Court of New Jersey, Atlantic County (Master Docket No. ATL-L-6341-10, Case No. 291, N. J. Super.).
