Thompson School District, based in Loveland, Colorado is launching a new online volunteer management program based on the EZVolunteer system from Relatrix Corporation. School volunteers will now register through the district website. The district can then track background checks, notify volunteers about upcoming school events, and record volunteer hours. This new system will streamline the entire volunteer process, while raising awareness of school safety.

Relatrix, the leader in Online Contact Center solutions for the K-12 education market, is pleased to announce Thompson School District is rolling out a volunteer registration and management service called VITAL Online, based on Relatrix Corporation's EZVolunteer system. The district is now able to keep track of volunteers and the background checks that Thompson runs on all school volunteers. With EZVolunteer the district can also notify volunteers about opportunities where they are needed and record where and how long volunteers are in the specific school.

VITAL Online combines volunteer contact details, school and activity preferences and background results in one database. It allows the district to expand the volunteer pool while engaging parents and community members in school activities. Thompson can now recognize volunteers for their time and efforts; and provide documentation on the value of those volunteer hours. By tracking background results Thompson is able to raise awareness within its schools of any security related concerns with volunteers, and improve overall student safety.

“Relatrix’ EZVolunteer system will help our district by providing an additional layer to help address student and staff safety - one of our top priorities,” said Wesley Fothergill, Communication and Community Resources Director at Thompson School District. “In addition, it will allow us to communicate more effectively with our volunteers about upcoming events and build stronger ties between our volunteer community and our schools.”

“Thompson now has a simple, web-based set of tools to raise awareness of safety and security issues and to increase opportunities for volunteers to help their schools,” said Mark Franke, President of Relatrix. “The integrated functionality of EZVolunteer helps the district and individual campuses inform volunteers by email of planned activities, keep track of which volunteers are in the building and documents how much time was spent by each volunteer,” he added.

The Thompson School District is the sixteenth largest school district in Colorado, encompassing 362 square miles, and is the largest employer in Loveland and Berthoud, Colorado. A pre-K through 12th grade district with nine early childhood centers, 20 elementary schools, five middle schools, five high schools and two charter schools, Thompson District’s enrollment is 15,670 students. The district's CSAP scores are consistently above state averages and the district-wide graduating class of 2010 earned over $19 million in scholarships. Thompson employs 2,000 full and part-time employees.
