Beth Dewey, a seasoned veteran to the post production world, has taken a position at SonicPool Post Production as the Main Titles and DI Producer. Most recently, Beth has been working on title design and graphics for new releases of: The Grey, The Darkest Hour, The Last Reef- 3D Imax, A Very Harold and Kumar 3D Christmas, What’s YOUR Number?, Red, Big Momma- Like Father Like Son and Your Highness.
Starting her career as an assistant film editor and member of the editors guild, Beth moved into a position helping merge traditional film with new technology and digital format finish. As intermediate technology was in its infancy, Beth ran the day to day in a small three person department to finish trailers for MGM using film scanning and color correction at a small company called Picture Mill. As the industry grew, she continued to progress with digital trailer finishing for several years, and as the DI became more common, moved to Feature Digital Intermediate production at Technicolor and EFilm. At Technicolor, Beth managed some of the first digital web series for BMW films. In 2010, Beth moved back to Picture Mill, who had made a name in the title design business, and began to use her knowledge of DI and editorial to create a more harmonious workflow between title vendor, cutting room and DI facility. With her longtime experience and relationships, Beth stepped into marketing as a natural undertaking.
Officially coming to SonicPool in October 2011, Beth has been diligently working with editors to help with a new groundbreaking online series. Beth “is thrilled to have found a company that offers every service needed to finish a film under one roof with such outstanding talent. The ability to have your Mix and DI happening in unison along with your VFX allows us to completely dedicate the facilities to Filmmakers, giving them the priority and flexibility they need as they finish making a film. I love the ability and the freedom to nurture each project with no compromises to their vision.” As an exceptional media guru with a rigorous work ethic, she continues to take on projects of all size and appeal and SonicPool is thrilled for the addition to their staff.
