Tim’s presentation entitled ‘Consumer Driven Innovation – Focused Channel Actions for Food Processors’ will provide international insight into the use of consumer facing packaging, distribution, promotions, and internet vehicles such as cooperative websites for consumer and marketplace acceptance based on his 25 years of experience with the largest branded food companies in the world. The conference focus is on pomegranate, a crop common in Croatia that is gaining popularity as a crop in Georgia.
Also, during the trip Tim will tour agricultural areas in the region. Dr. Slavko Perica, Director of The Institute for Adriatic Crops and Karst Reclamation, will welcome Tim and the UGA delegation to the event and introduce him during the conference.
This event was made possible via the planning and organization of the The University of Georgia College of Agriculture and Enviromental Sciences, Sarah Workman, and Juan Carlos Diaz Perez with funding from the USDA/NIFA International Science and Education grant program.
Later in the year, Tim Forrest is slated to speak at Food Fare in Hanover, Germany.
The Institute for Adriatic Crops and Karst Reclamation is state-owned entity and it operates as a public research institute, under the direction of the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports of the Republic of Croatia.
