The American Filtration and Separations Society(AFS) will be celebrating its’ 25th Anniversary at its’ Technical Conference & Exhibition on June 4-7, 2012 at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Boca Raton, FL.

On the afternoon of Thursday, June 7th, Quantachrome Instruments will be opening the doors of its newly expanded and refurbished headquarters in Boynton Beach to registered attendees at this year’s AFS Conference to be held in nearby Boca Raton.

Quantachrome manufactures the state-of-the-art Porometer 3G capillary flow porometer, the direct descendent of the well-known Coulter Porometer. Capillary flow porometers are a popular means to determine the sizes of pores in filtration media, including woven and non-woven fabrics and membranes – both flat sheet and hollow fibers. Visitors to Quantachrome will be able to see the Porometer 3G being manufactured, and to talk with Quantachrome’s scientists and engineers. The guided tour will also showcase the expanded and refurnished laboratory and engineering facilities. The Porometer 3G will be demonstrated in the laboratory where visitors will be able to see a pore size distribution being measured in real-time.

Quantachrome manufactures a large range of laboratory instruments within a common theme of characterizing porous materials and powders; also on display will be surface area analyzers, other pore size analyzers, density analyzers and water vapor sorption analyzers. Quantachrome staff will be on hand to answer questions regarding any of Quantachrome’s instruments. Light refreshments will be provided, as will transportation between the AFS Conference and Quantachrome for the approximately 90 minute on-site visit.

On Monday, June 4th, AFS will be offering 12 short courses including the popular “Fundamentals of Liquid Filtration” full day course.

On Tuesday, June 5th the Technical Conference & Exhibition will begin. It will have dozens of presentations given in multiple concurrent tracks and will run for two and one-half days ending at noon on Thursday, June 7th.

On Tuesday evening, AFS will be hosting a 25th Anniversary dinner celebrating the last 25 years of AFS. All conference attendees will be welcome.
