Revolution PAC, the super committee backing U.S. Rep. Ron Paul as the Republican presidential nominee, launched its “PollWatcher” election integrity initiative February 28, when its field teams correctly forecast the outcomes of primaries in both Michigan and Arizona.
“As many were projecting a Santorum win in Michigan, our pollsters were correctly calling a Romney victory,” explains Revolution PAC Chair Gary Franchi. “Our technology exceeded expectations. Our forecasting in both states was accurate. We are already working to expand both the depth and reach of PollWatcher ahead of Super Tuesday in order to build on the success achieved in Arizona and Michigan."
Rep. Paul has strong operations in all Super Tuesday states, including Virginia, where just he and Mitt Romney achieved ballot access, and Idaho, where Paul took second in his 2008 run and won a state GOP straw poll in January. Revolution PAC will again broadcast extended election night coverage on Super Tuesday March 6 as part of its “Boycott the Mainstream Media” initiative. Join the live stream at 7 p.m. CST at http://www.revolutionpac.com.
Central to RevPAC’s exit polling strategy is its proprietary smartphone application PollWatcher v1.5, deployed by authorized field members at verifiable polling locations. Results are tabulated in real time and processed by a centralized, secure server.
The custom-coded Android app also features access to a “reporter’s toolbox,” which provides one-click audio/video recording as well as the ability to post to Facebook or Twitter in real time. Due to overwhelming demand, plans are underway to offer the app on iPhone, followed by a version for BlackBerry and other smartphone operating systems.
“Our PollWatcher app is causing quite a buzz in the political community,” continues Franchi. “Activists have long sought a simple yet functional and reliable tool that allows greater individual influence over election integrity. Now, they have it.”
Revolution PAC’s “PollWatcher” initiative is a means to crosscheck the accuracy of state GOP parties’ vote totals, which have been problematic in several early primary and caucus states. The move effectively ends the nationwide exit polling monopoly, as Edison Research has been the sole provider of exit poll information to the major news organizations.
Revolution PAC is supporting U.S. Rep. Ron Paul’s bid for the Republican presidential nomination and his consistent, constitutional message with targeted TV advertising, direct mail campaigns, vote-watching initiatives and innovative Web promotions complemented by billboards and radio ads in key primary states. Unlimited donations by individuals, businesses and organizations are being accepted by Revolution PAC to support that effort.
