Denver, CO (PRWEB) March 01, 2012
Water For People, a Denver-based international nonprofit that is dedicated to helping people in developing countries gain access to safe drinking water, improved sanitation and hygiene education, in partnership with Freshcraft, a local Denver restaurant, launched a month-long campaign today to raise awareness for the global water crisis. Through March 31, Freshcraft and participating craft breweries will offer special deals during the month of March in honor of World Water Day, which falls on March 22.
“We are so thankful to Freshcraft and our brewery partners who are helping us celebrate March in commemoration of World Water Day by helping raise awareness about the global water crisis and support Water For People’s work in solving water poverty in the developing world,” said Ned Breslin, the CEO of Water For People. “The funds raised will go directly to our work, providing access to safe water and sanitation solutions to everyone in the areas where we operate in Africa, Asia, Central America and South America and ensure that access lasts forever without continued aid from nongovernmental agencies.”
As part of the month-long celebration, Water For People will be collaborating with New Belgium Brewing, Avery Brewing Company, Victory Brewing Company and Boulevard Brewing Company to create a “Flight for Water” that will feature beers from around the United States and include details on each craft brewery and how they are dedicated to water conservation. The water flight will be sold at Freshcraft and patrons will have the opportunity to donate to Water For People.
Additional partnership efforts with Freshcraft will focus on specific days of the month. On March 17, St. Patrick’s Day, Freshcraft will feature a special menu item and donate a portion of the sales directly to Water For People. On March 22, World Water Day, Freshcraft will host a food and beer pairing with all proceeds benefitting Water For People.
“We are excited to partner with Water for People during March. Sometimes in our society it seems that clean water is taken for granted, and we believe that it’s important to bring some attention and awareness to an issue that can have such a huge effect in improving the world around us,” said Jason Forgy, Freshcraft’s proprietor.
