The classroom management strategies that Emaley describes can be useful to anyone with an interest in understanding and helping to manage the behavior of children and teenagers

A new classroom management resource is now available for educators and education professionals. PD developers School Improvement Network and Autism Training Solutions have teamed up to put on a free webinar that can be downloaded beginning March 1st, at http://www.schoolimprovement.com/pd360-free-pd/webinars.

The webinar, titled “Training Educators to Do Behavior Assessments” was presented on February 29th by child behavior expert Emaley McCulloch, and outlines a set of strategies for determining the root cause of problem behavior in the classroom.

“Emaley’s insight into classroom management and behavior assessment is great because it’s practical and based upon a few simple principles,” says Scott Bowen, a webinar participant. “And it is useful for teachers, as well as teacher trainers. The classroom management strategies that Emaley describes can be useful to anyone with an interest in understanding and helping to manage the behavior of children and teenagers.”

The webinar helps educators and parents to understand:

  •     Why the child is engaging in behavior
  •     Antecedent conditions setting stage for behavior
  •     What can be done to address behavior
  •     How to develop a plan to manage behavior

McCulloch’s presentation, with audio and visual components, can be downloaded for free online at http://www.schoolimprovement.com/pd360-free-pd/webinars along with other education webinars presented on themes ranging from the Common Core, to differentiation, to equity for all students. All School Improvement Network webinars are free and open to the public. As always, stay tuned for upcoming School Improvement Network webinars; the company will host two in March.
