Are You Watching This?! (RUWT), the sports application that guarantees no sports fan ever misses an Instant Classic with personalized alerts and recommendations, today announced the availability of the RUWT Data Services API (application programming interface) for the first time, opening up their exclusive sports data and algorithms to developers and businesses for power rich applications and websites.

The RUWT API allows developers to leverage RUWT’s core, patent-pending technology, including predictive algorithms and machine learning technology to process real-time, in-game statistics.

RUWT delivers data-enriched notifications through personalized recommendations sent to users when a game is getting hot and deserves new attention. All alerts are tied to customized television channel listings for immediate action. The technology incorporates massive data feeds for almost all sports, 24/7 and parses and analyzes activity to identify upsets in progress, frequent score changes, overtime and more. It incorporates statistics and news stories, as well, allowing industries such as broadcast television previously untapped capabilities targeted towards sports-obsessed consumers.

With RUWT, sports businesses can build more robust apps and sites, stimulate engagement, and build a more captive audience, whatever the point of engagement. The new RUWT statistics and data offering will serve as an outsourced R&D department for many businesses using their data.

The market for sports data is enormous, taking in $400-425 billion yearly. With the introduction of the Data Services API, RUWT is now adding comprehensive analytics to businesses in need of intelligent sports data.

RUWT’s system has rated more than 150,000 games across more than a dozen sports. An excitement rating is calculated as many as 500 times throughout every game RUWT’s platform analyzes. The sports-focused architecture was designed from the start for scalability and speed, with the RUWT algorithm making calculations in less than a tenth of a second.

RUWT’s data can be used to predict excitement, keep users up-to-date, send alerts when attention is warranted and build new kinds of intelligent offerings that go beyond simple sports feeds. It goes well beyond the scoreboard and ticker, providing next-generation sports intelligence in an output format that has been curated and enriched with metadata and predictive analytics, and configured for modern and mobile use cases.

The Sporting News app’s “What to Watch,” powered by RUWT, is the latest example of how TV is getting more and more personalized. Fans will never miss a game that’s sure to be exciting, and will never be teased about a game not airing in their location. Most importantly, users are lured back into the app when a game is trending, or matches their unique interests – meaningfully increasing engagement.
