Major League Soccer's official scarf licensee provides custom scarves for league's newest team. Impact hosts inaugural home match on March 17.

Ruffneck Scarves, officially licensed scarf provider to Major League Soccer, is producing scarves for the Montreal Impact’s inaugural season ticket holders.

Montreal’s first home match is March 17 versus the Chicago Fire at the Olympic Stadium. The Impact is the 19th team in MLS and begins play on March 10 in Vancouver.

“There's definitely a fervor surrounding MLS coming to Quebec and we’re pleased to play a part in this next wave of passion," said Ruffneck Scarves president Jeff McIntyre. "The Impact's design is distinct and their fans will be easily recognizable when wearing their scarves.”

More than 34,000 tickets have been sold, and it’s possible the crowd could threaten or exceed the attendance record for a professional soccer game played in Montreal. The mark of 58,542 was set in 1981 when the Montreal Manic host the Chicago Sting.

Ruffneck Scarves has produced custom soccer scarves for the Impact since the club’s USL-1 era. Ruffneck has also produced scarves for season ticket holders of the Colorado Rapids, Columbus Crew, D.C. United, New York Red Bulls, Philadelphia Union, Portland Timbers, Seattle Sounders FC and Vancouver Whitecaps FC.

Ruffneck Scarves Canada was launched on March 5 and is based in Vancouver. As exclusive sub-licensee to Adidas for MLS, it produces the licensed custom soccer scarves for the Impact, Toronto FC, Vancouver Whitecaps FC as well as the league's 16 American clubs.

Montreal Impact season tickets for the 2012 season are available and can be purchase via the club’s website, http://www.impactmontreal.com or by calling (514) 328-3668.
