"Often it is the very technology that record centers rely on to improve efficiency that keeps them from moving at the speed of 21st century business. That’s why we are continually upgrading our software," notes Ian Thomas, Executive VP of O'Neil Software.
Irvine, CA (PRWEB) March 05, 2012
Continuous access to information, no matter what. It's what record center staff and their customers demand every minute of every business day. However, it's difficult to meet the challenges of today with yesterday's tools and expect to be in business tomorrow.
“It’s not the big that beats the small...it’s the fast that beats the slow,” notes Ian Thomas, Executive VP of O'Neil Software. “Even the largest record centers cannot compete if they are slow to change with the times. And all too often, it's the very technology they rely upon to improve efficiency that keeps them from moving at the speed of 21st century business. That’s why O'Neil is continually upgrading their existing product line. The company doesn't want its customers wondering what’s ahead; O'Neil wants them to be ready for it.”
RS-SQL® Interface Highlights
A New Image Storage Method, Digitech Systems, Has Been Added for Customers’ Quick and Easy Reference. O’Neil has taken the first steps in a relationship with Digitech Solutions and their PaperVision Imaging suite. This latest integration continues O’Neil’s commitment to make it easier for RS-SQL users to work with other software providers.
This storage method can only be used by record centers that are using the Digitech PaperVision product. It allows the record center to reference images that are stored on the PaperVision platform from within RS-SQL. These images can, in turn, be delivered to the customer via RSWeb®.NET, using what is called a Document Grant in Digitech terminology.
The biggest benefit of this new feature is that it enables integrated billing. It allows O’Neil to automatically and seamlessly capture and update billing information as it occurs, ensuring accuracy and faster processing. This new feature also increases business efficiency; enhances customer service; and results in a significant cost savings by accelerating business processing time.
An Image Purge Capability Promotes Efficiency, While Providing a Clear Audit Trail of Access and Activity. Many records contain images that gradually lose their relevance to a company’s business over time. Image Purge helps reduce the plethora of irrelevant material from a legal point of view; keeps business data relevant; and removes what is no longer needed or pertinent to a company’s business. In previous versions of RS-SQL, users had the ability to delete an image, which also deleted all activity related to the image. Users now have the ability to remove images from an image record, while keeping the image record itself. Purging an image removes association to the image file from the RS-SQL image record and deletes the image file, if possible. However, RS-SQL retains all image data entry, activity and billing information.
RSMobile® Interface Highlights
Changes Have Been Made to the RSMobile Prefix Command to Provide Flexibility. This feature now gives users the ability to scan barcodes of any length, add a prefix and pad them out with zeros to a specified length. This is extremely helpful for use during conversions, or for the initial intake of boxes that have existing barcodes from other record centers, as software users can make them unique to their own record center.
RSWeb®.NET Interface Highlights
A Customized Terms and Conditions Page Has Been Added to Safeguard Visitors and a Company's Internet Site. The Terms and Conditions of a site set out a contract between the Internet site and its visitors. It is particularly important if a company is selling a product or service on a site because should something go wrong, it limits a company’s liability. It can also absolve an organization of responsibility if anyone mistakenly uses its information for the wrong purposes, or wants to hold the company liable for damages incurred by utilizing the company's site or its data.
Cloud Based Licensing (CBL) Lets Software Users Get Up and Running in Minutes. It’s the new and automated way to license users. O'Neil handles all the software licensing infrastructure on a company's behalf - all in the cloud. Software users are now free from all the time-consuming hassles and non-core functions associated with software licensing. With CBL, there is no longer a need to create and email System Resolution Information files and then wait for a Systems Limit file to be emailed back. The new RS-SQL License Manager service, running on an Internet accessible computer, means licensing information can be sent directly to and from O’Neil via the cloud. Once an activation code is entered that is provided by O’Neil, the rest is done auotmatically. When System Limits change for any reason, O’Neil resets the license information and it is automatically updated on a company's computer within 15 minutes.
