Ocoee, FL (PRWEB) March 04, 2012
Today FX Design Group, LLC launched its first major website overhaul in almost 5 years. The site domain will remain http://www.fxgroup.tv but little else will stay the same. The company will also be introducing its full corporate name, FX Design Group, throughout the website and eventually in all other media and communications. The new site will be much more user driven incorporating powerful search tools, a blog an e-paper, social media sharing tools, new portfolio layouts, new customer drive content and much more.
The overall design is a big departure from the existing FX site. However it is a much simpler design utilizing much more white space and less text throughout. This direction was taken so that the site did not compete with the color rich project images and designs shown throughout the site and in the portfolios. A simple arching textured header in FX’s color palette introduces each page and simple ribbon footer is home to a Twitter feed, basic contact information, a Tag Cloud and search function box.
The Home page is dominated by a large scrolling image gallery followed by a very simple FX Design Group introduction while retaining the ample white space. Next to the introduction is a button titled “Newest Designs”. Visitors who are most interested in exploring FX’s latest designs and projects need go no further than this button. Next on the home page are brief descriptions of their main service offerings: scenic design; lighting design; motion graphics; each of which is a clickable navigation.
The menu function operates by simple drop downs and the information is arranged more by the type of project the visitor may be interested in viewing. The new site brings back to life the one and only FXUniversity in the Client Center. And the work of Emmy award winning motion graphics firm Giant Octopus (GO) will be featured on the site. FX purchased GO in 2010 adding motion graphics to its list of services. With the new site all of FX’s assets will be available in one place.
“We have been surveying site visitors for some time to see what they would like from our site. What we learned was they wanted a site that was easy to navigate, easy to share with others, and one that was updated regularly with new content.” Said Bob Gravely, CSO at FX. “It’s taken a while, and it’s a work in progress, but we know it will offer a much more satisfying and rewarding site visit”.
Over the next few months FX will be adding visitor rich content in the form of white papers, case studies, tip sheets, a new blog and press releases all intended to help the visitor learn more about FX and its services. On the FX Blog page will be a link to CEO/Creative Services Director Mack McLaughlin’s e-paper, “E-Merging Media Today” which visitors can subscribe to for free.
FX is using the new site launch to introduce its complete corporate name FX Design Group as the current name “FX Group” omits one of the most important and valuable components of FX’s service…design. “We feel strongly that with the addition of Giant Octopus in 2010 and new internal set designers this year, we are as much a design firm as we are a fabrication firm” commented Mr. McLaughlin. “So it made sense that we bring the Design element of our name front and center in the new site.”
