While men's Black Tie Dress Code should be a no-brainer for Hollywood's elite, it still surprises me how many men get it wrong.

The lists every celebrity either looks forward to or dreads is now out. Cheap-Neckties.com, the online store specializing in affordable men’s neck and bow ties, has announced the best and worst “black tie” outfits from the 2012 Academy Awards. A-list actors, directors and celebrities can now see whether they got an A+ or an F at: http://www.cheap-neckties.com/blog/
“The Oscars are the best opportunity Hollywood stars have all year to show of their charms and their threads. A well-dressed celeb at the Academy Awards not only sets trends people all over the world will try to emulate year-round, but solidifies his place as a glamour god,” said Cheap-Neckties.com founder and fashionista Hendrik Pohl. He continues by pointing out that "While men's Black Tie Dress Code should be a no-brainer for Hollywood's elite, it still surprises me how many of them manage to get it wrong."
Three stars made it to Cheap-Neckties.com’s list of worst dressed actors on the Academy Awards red carpet. Hilarious, talented and much-loved actor Jonah Hill must have been making a bad joke with his choice of black on black on black. Perhaps somebody dear to him died or perhaps his stylist is experimenting psychedelic drugs, but there is no excuse for Hill’s very unfunny back bow tie with a non-matching black shirt and still non-matching black tuxedo. For taking it all back to black, Hill gets a thumbs down.
Number two worst dress man, Nick Nolte, was clearly going for a Saint Nicholas look. Showing up on the red carpet looking portly in a tuxedo jacket that didn’t seem to want to stay closed, Nolte must have been taking his style cues from Santa Claus, with a white beard to round out the look. He should have visited Cheap-Neckties.com to find a red bow tie, instead of the polka-dotted number he chose to don. He made formalwear look informal and he better give Americans a lot of gifts next year to make up for it.
Chris Rock is Cheap-Neckties.com’s third choice for worst dressed at the Oscars. He committed the cardinal sin of awards ceremony fashion: he wore a clip on bow tie. Rock should have visited the site to purchase one in the huge selection of freestyle bow ties. He could also have learned how to tie a bow tie knot had he cared to consult Cheap-Neckties.com. For a classy guy making a tacky move, Rock gets a D on his red carpet test.
On a happier note, three actors made it to Cheap-Neckties.com’s list of actors who wore their black tie attire to the nines. To view the complete list, please visit Cheap-Neckties.com' announcement of The Best Dressed Men at the Oscars.
