Best of the Web now offers college-bound students in any degree program the opportunity to earn financial support towards their education through the Online Degree Directory.

Since 1994, Best of the Web has provided the Internet community with meaningful guidance through a continuously growing authoritative collection of web directories. Whether seeking trusted websites, blogs, or local business information, users can find direction in the depths of cyberspace through the well-categorized BOTW Directories, featuring best-in-class websites hand picked by a talented team of editors.

In April of last year, BOTW launched the Online Degree Directory in response to the growing enrollment numbers in distance learning programs. The subsequent, scam-riddled “diploma mills” emerging all over the web necessitated a reliable resource for students pursuing online degree programs. Now accurate information for all majors at all degree levels can be found in one reliable directory, helping college-bound students avoid the inevitable and overwhelming clutter found in related search results.

The success of the Online Degree Directory over the past year has only made Best of the Web’s commitment to providing the ultimate college resource grow. In an effort to not only offer all the tools necessary for those planning to enroll in a degree program, but also to support the learning community, Best of the Web has now launched a scholarship program.

"We're really pleased to provide financial support to prospective college students. Regardless of the overall economic conditions, there are always promising students who simply cannot afford the rising costs of a college education," said Greg Hartnett, BOTW President. "With our ongoing scholarship opportunities, we hope to help many of those who would not otherwise be able to pursue a college degree."

A college education is increasingly expensive, but now students can turn to the Online Degree Directory not only for information and general guidance regarding an online school, program, or field of study, but also for the opportunity to earn money that can be applied directly to tuition, textbooks, housing and other costly college expenses. The scholarship award is available to U.S. citizens over the age of 16 who are enrolled or planning to enroll in an accredited college in pursuit of any degree level from Associate to Doctorate. Best of the Web will regularly update the scholarship opportunities available through the Online Degree Directory with the aim of enabling college-aged students to pursue and complete a higher education.

"Best of the Web was built on the foundation of categorizing the world's information and, as such, we have always placed a premium on the quest for knowledge and continued learning," said Brian Prince, CEO. "This announcement is further testament to that ongoing commitment. It feels good to assist those without the financial means to pursue their dreams of higher education, and we hope to inspire others to do more of the same."
