Dr. Monica Elman, MD, will be presenting her poster and results of her study at the upcoming 70th Annual Meeting of the AAD. Dr. Elman's study, entitled "Combination of Deep Non-Ablative Radiofrequency with Multisource Fractional RF Skin Resurfacing for the Treatment of Deep Wrinkles and Atrophic Acne Scars," highlights the impressive results she achieved using the EndyMed PRO with a combined deep non-ablative RF and RF fractional skin resurfacing protocol.
Non-invasive skin tightening procedures are increasingly on demand today, and radiofrequency technology is considered one of the best treatment options in this area. Most first generation RF systems use one (Monopolar) or two (bipolar) RF generators that allow relatively superficial or painful non-ablative treatments. EndyMed Medical developed a new, unique FDA cleared RF technology called 3DEEP, which uses for the first time multiple phase controlled RF generators that direct RF energy deep into the dermis for optimal painless collagen remodeling. Instead of one RF generator as used in competing systems, EndyMed's technology consists of an array of multiple RF generators and a sophisticated algorithm to manage the phase of the energy flowing between sets of contact electrodes. Dr. Elman's study involved 10 subjects with deep wrinkles or atrophic acne scars between the ages of 21 to 72 years. In each treatment session, patients received a full face, EndyMed PRO 3DEEP, non-ablative skin tightening treatment, followed by a fractional skin resurfacing treatment. The treatment sessions were repeated once a month for a total of 2-4 treatments. Patients were photographed before treatment, after 4 weeks and after 8 weeks. Improvement was graded according to the accepted Cosmetic Improvement Scale. When ask about the treatment, 80% of patients confirmed they would definitely recommend the treatment to their friends.
Physician assessment of the results showed that 70% of patients had a 51-75% improvement in the appearance of deep wrinkles and acne scars, while the other 30% of patients showed an improvement 25-50%.
