“Consumer demand for the brand continues to grow, so it was a natural progression to produce a Pinot Grigio, the ideal complement to our existing counterparts” states Marketing Director Tim Peters.

Trinchero Family Estates today announced they are launching a Ménage à Trois Pinot Grigio. To play off the namesake, the renowned Napa Valley winery first launched Ménage à Trois with blends —Red, White and Rosé. The Ménage à Trois Red blend topped charts as the #1 Red blend wine, then quickly became the #1 overall Red wine in the United States. The White and Rosé quickly followed, taking the titles —respectively— as the #1 Premium White and #1 Rosé sold in the United States. In addition to topping the charts, Ménage à Trois continues to lead the pack with recent accolades like this year’s “Impact Hot Brand Award” and the “Fast Track Brand Award.”
In response to high consumer demand for the blends, Ménage à Trois adapted new marketing and winemaking strategies with the release of single varietal wines, like the Ménage à Trois Chardonnay in 2009 and Moscato in fall of 2011. “We are expanding and have been looking to add varietals to enhance our fine wine profile,” states Marketing Director Tim Peters. “Consumer demand for the brand continues to grow, so it was a natural progression to produce a Pinot Grigio, the ideal complement to our existing counterparts.”
“We’re incredibly excited to hear what consumers have to say about Ménage à Trois Pinot Grigio,” says Bob Torkelson, President and COO of Trinchero Family Estates. The Pinot Grigio is designed specifically to capture the essence of what Ménage à Trois consumers want in wine: delicious on its own and wonderfully versatile with food, fruit-forward, essentially the perfect way to end the day. “After an amazing couple of years with the blended wines and our single varietal Chardonnay and Moscato, introducing the Pinot Grigio would give Ménage à Trois consumers a fresh new wine to enjoy.”
Winemakers ventured across California to find the best regions that produce the Pinot Grigio varietal, the perfect addition to the brand’s existing portfolio of fun, festive wines. The 2010 Ménage à Trois Pinot Grigio is cold-fermented in steel tanks, completely avoiding malolactic fermentation resulting in a wine erupting with zesty tropical fruit aromas, vivid fruit flavors balanced by mouth-watering acidity. It’s a Pinot Grigio to appeal to all palates with its balance of acidity and fruit. Ménage à Trois Pinot Grigio can be found at restaurants and retailers nationwide with a suggested retail price of $9.99 a bottle.
