Ocean Edge Resort & Golf Club, Cape Cod’s leading family vacation and wedding destination, has announced a $5.3 million room renovation project on The Mansion side of the property.

Phase 1 of the project, which will be completed April 1, will feature a complete overhaul of all 90 guest rooms included in The Mansion guest wings, adjacent to the turn-of-the century Mansion. Construction has already begun on the project, with interior design provided by Linda Snyder Associates, Inc., the acclaimed interior design firm based in Torrance, Calif.

“Quite simply, these will be the most luxurious rooms available on Cape Cod,” said Robert J. Newman, President of Corcoran Jennison Hospitality, which owns and manages Ocean Edge. “The Mansion room renovation, together with recent, major investments in a host of resort amenities, is part of our continuing effort to combine modern elegance with our legendary historic setting.”

Over the last five years, more than $40 million has been invested in Ocean Edge facilities with a lengthy list of improvements that includes the opening of Cape Cod’s only Nicklaus Design golf course, a 4,500-square foot wedding and meeting facility, and the spectacular Ocean Terrace bar and restaurant in the back of The Mansion with sweeping views of Cape Cod Bay. In addition, a new Ocean Edge Member Sports Club will be completed this summer.

Now the renovated Mansion guest rooms, which range from 480 to 680 square feet, will come alive with details that recall the nostalgia of Cape Cod vacations. The project features:

     •    Romanticized bedding, with drapery treatment at the headboards, custom embroidery on
pillows and duvets by well-known textile designer Andrew Morgan.

     •    Custom entertainment centers, offering guests flexible work and dining space flanked by
shelving containing flat screen televisions, books, games and artifacts relevant to the Cape.

     •    Enhanced dressing rooms with additional sink and vanity area and customized closets
     including shelves for guest use.

     •    Bathrooms that feature large-scale vanity mirrors and modern glass tub enclosures.

“We wanted the new Mansion guestrooms to come alive with texture and detail that embody a Cape holiday, but with a fresh and modern approach to color and styling,” said Linda Snyder, whose renowned interior design work includes St. Regis Deer Crest Resort in Park City, Utah; Jurys Boston Hotel, which is now the Back Bay Hotel; Georgian Hotel in Santa Monica, Calif.; and Hotel Abrego in Monterrey, Calif. “Layers of detail in bedding, built-ins, artwork and accent features will bring a modern feel to The Mansion guest wings while maintaining a nod to the traditions of Cape Cod.”

The second phase of the $5.3 million renovation features major upgrades to all of Ocean Edge’s two- and three-bedroom Bay Pines Villas. The Bay Pines renovation, scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2012, will mimic the work created in Phase 1, creating an updated resort experience. A fresh color scheme of seafoam, coral and wheat will accentuate furniture pieces that give a special flair to each private room.
