3D Biomatrix, a leader in the development of three-dimensional (3D) cell culture products, will exhibit its Perfecta3D[TM] Hanging Drop Plates at the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) Annual Meeting 2012. The show, taking place at McCormick Place in Chicago on March 31 – April 4, draws leaders in all major areas of cancer research from around the globe.
“Cancer researchers have long discussed the value of 3D spheroid cultures as tumor models,” remarked Laura Schrader, CEO of 3D Biomatrix. “We are looking forward to interacting with leaders in this field, and to presenting our Perfecta3D Hanging Drop Plates to cancer researchers that would benefit from spheroid cultures.”
The Perfecta3D Hanging Drop Plate is an easy-to-adopt well plate for 3D spheroid cultures. The hanging drop arrangement permits only one spheroid per well and can be accessed from the top or bottom of each well, giving the researcher control over spheroid diameter and access. Spheroids have been formed in Perfecta3D Hanging Drop Plates from primary cells, many different cell lines, and co-cultures of two or three different cell types. They have also been used for stem cell research. Cell cultures can be analyzed utilizing microscopy and fluorescence- and colorimetric-based assays. Compatible with manual pipettors and automated liquid handling systems, Perfecta3D Hanging Drop Plates are used in both pharmaceutical and academic labs, and can be ordered through a number of distributors in Europe, Asia, and the U.S. or directly through 3DBiomatrix.com.
