Comedy Central's ‘Key & Peele’ to be Honored and Entertain at Chicago Improv Awards Show Benefit on March 31

Chicago Improv Festival Productions will honor talented individuals for their contributions to the improv community at the Chicago Improv Awards Show Benefit on Saturday, March 31 at 9 p.m. at the Athenaeum Theatre. A must-attend event for comedy fans, Comedy Central’s “Key & Peele” will make a special appearance to accept the “Ensemble of the Year Award.” The evening will culminate with an unpredictably witty improv jam featuring comedic actors Keegan-Michael Key, Jordan Peele, Ike Barinholtz and Jon Barinholtz.

Chicago Improv Festival Productions will celebrate the art of improv and honor talented individuals for their contributions to the improv community at the Chicago Improv Awards Show Benefit on Saturday, March 31 at 9 p.m. at the Athenaeum Theatre. A must-attend event for comedy fans, Comedy Central’s “Key & Peele” will make a special appearance to accept the “Ensemble of the Year Award.” The evening will culminate with an unpredictably witty improv jam emceed by Chicago Improv Festival Artistic Director Mark Sutton featuring comedic actors Keegan-Michael Key, Jordan Peele, Ike Barinholtz and Jon Barinholtz.

Chicago Improv Awards Show Benefit honorees currently scheduled to attend include:

  •     Chicago Improv Festival’s Ensemble of the Year Award to Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele (Comedy Central’s new series Key and Peele and MADtv alums)
  •     Chicago Improv Festival’s Lifetime Achievement Award to Dan Patterson (Creator/Producer Who's Line Is It Anyway?)
  •     Chicago Improv Festival's Spotlight Award to Alan Barinholtz (Chicago Improv Festival Board Member)

To purchase tickets in advance at $35 each, please visit 2012CIFGala.Eventbrite.com. On the day of the benefit starting at 1 p.m., tickets may be purchased for $40 at the Athanaeum Theatre, located at 2936 N. Southport Avenue in Chicago.

Kicking off at 7 p.m., the Gala reception features: complimentary wine, beer and light appetizers, impromptu improvisers performing throughout the reception, an enticing silent auction featuring autographed memorabilia and much more.
