St. Louis, MO (PRWEB) March 06, 2012
As math teachers prepare exciting lessons to celebrate World Math Day (March 7) or to help boost students’ math skills, those who are members of Promethean Planet (Planet) can now select dynamic videos from a new collection of award-winning interactive content from Virtual Nerd.
Virtual Nerd’s pre-recorded math videos support 21st Century learning. Teachers use the company’s proprietary Dynamic Whiteboard® instructional platform for sharing of pre-recorded video tutorials to help students master 6-8 grade math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Algebra II and Geometry.
Beginning today these supplemental lessons are available on Promethean Planet, an online community created for teachers to connect, create and exchange unique teaching resources.
As a partner, Virtual Nerd will be providing Planet members with access to its extensive library of pre-recorded math videos, all presented within the company’s Web-based interactive Dynamic Whiteboard.
“Virtual Nerd is joining with Promethean Planet to provide new and innovative educational resources to the teaching community,” said Josh Salcman, President and co-Founder of Virtual Nerd. “We look forward to providing our service to teachers globally in support of teachers who want to use technology to help them deliver personalized learning to their students.”
Established in 2006, by Promethean, a global education company, Planet is home to more than 1.4 million educators world-wide. Planet offers free memberships to teachers worldwide with the stated benefits of providing ready-made lessons, tips from a global community of teachers, free professional development and fresh ideas for new classroom lessons and themes.
"A world-class education includes ensuring students are prepared to create future innovations to solve global challenges, and fluency in math is critical. By providing teachers with dynamic content they can use to build engaging and meaningful lessons and activities, inside and outside the classroom, we are supporting their efforts to deliver transformational, 21st Century learning," said Brent Taggart, Head of Promethean Planet. “We are delighted to be working with Virtual Nerd and believe their resources will facilitate higher-level understanding of math concepts.“
