QuintoLabs Content Security is an ICAP server and URL rewriter that integrates with existing deployments of Squid proxy server and provides rich content and web filtering functionality to sanitize Internet traffic passing into internal home/enterprise network.

QuintoLabs Content Security may be used to block illegal or potentially malicious file downloads, remove annoying web advertisements, prohibit user tracking, prevent access to various categories of the web sites and block resources with explicit content. The application is easily deployed and managed, requires minimal external dependencies, very robust and runs with excellent performance. It supports all major Linux distributions (Ubuntu, RedHat, Debian, CentOS, Fedora) and Microsoft Windows Home Server 2011.

The new version introduces web filtering polices that let administrator impose different levels of filtering for different users, greatly improving usability of the application in educational institutions and enterprises. The number of operating systems supported for deployment of Content Security was extended with Debian 5 and OpenSUSE 12. A lot of small improvements, performance enhancements and bug fixes are also included in this release.

Virtual Appliance with Content Security is now built using VMWare’s virtual studio and can be instantly deployed on VMWare Server, Workstation as well as in private clouds and ESX/ESXi virtual environments.

QuintoLabs Content Security 2.0 is freely available.
