Inside Edge Legal (IEL), the legal contract staffing affiliate of Major, Lindsey & Africa (MLA), the world's leading legal search firm, today announced the addition of Lindsey Koch as a Professional Recruiter in the Los Angeles office, Shannon Murphy as a Recruiter in the New York office and Elizabeth Smith as a Professional Recruiter in the Boston office. Prior to joining Inside Edge Legal, Koch was an Associate at Durbin Law Offices in New Hampshire. She headed the personal injury, estate planning, employment law and criminal defense areas of the practice. Previously Koch worked at the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) in Washington, D.C. and was an Account Manager at the Entrepreneur’s Organization, a global membership associated dedicated to the professional and personal development of small business owners. Koch received a J.D. from Golden Gate University School of Law in San Francisco, CA and a B.A. in political science from the University of New Hampshire.

Murphy comes to IEL from a boutique search firm in Westchester County that specializes in financial services. She recruited legal and compliance professionals for investment banks, hedge funds, fund of funds and broker dealers. Murphy began her legal career as a clerk in the law firm of Le + Pelletier in Orange County, California where she dealt primarily with business planning and intellectual property. Murphy externed in the Los Angeles office of the California Department of Corporations. She holds a J.D. from Pepperdine University School of Law and a B.A., cum laude, in political science and philosophy from the University of San Diego. In addition she earned a certificate from Pepperdine’s Palmer Center for Business, Entrepreneurship and the Law and spearheaded the launch of the Palmer Center Micro-Enterprise Program.

Smith is a former Director of Candidate Recruitment and Development at Counsel on Call. Previously, Smith worked as a commercial litigation associate in the Hartford offices of LeBoeuf, Lamb, Greene & MacRae (now Dewey & LeBoeuf) and Halloran & Sage. At LeBoeuf, Smith assisted a Fortune 500 manufacturing client with post-closing environmental remediation issues and served as one of the firm’s electronic discovery and strategy experts. While at Halloran, she represented companies ranging from small businesses to Fortune 500 insurance companies on issues ranging from contractual breach to ITAR. Smith holds a J.D. from The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law, where she was a member of the Law Review, and a B.A., magna cum laude, in history and art history from Providence College. She has a Certificate in International Trade from Catholic University’s Comparative Law Institute.
