AmadoraGiftOfLove.com fundraising company helped St. Peter and Paul School in Hopkinsville KY raise money without stressing parents burned out on fundraising.

Parents ended up thrilled, because they didn’t feel like it was a fundraiser. They just had the option to buy something really nice if they wanted to. We are excited to sell the sheets again!

St. Peter and Paul school has long had a commitment to providing the most excellent possible education, while keeping tuition as low as possible. This meant lots of school fundraising. Lots of it. Every year. Finally, last year, parents had had enough. They voted, at a parents meeting, to refuse to do any more fundraising. Raise tuition $200 per child, if you need to, but do not make us do another fundraiser.

So, that is what the school did – at first. They raised tuition $200 per student, and the parents paid it. Then, the school discovered Amadora llc., a fundraising company that helps schools fundraise by selling luxury bed sheets. In economically difficult times, non-essential things like candy and wrapping paper do not sell well. Bake sales and fun runs face the same difficulties. Perishable grocery items are hard to sell profitably within the narrow times appropriate for keeping food. Amadora had a better fundraising idea. Luxury, microfiber, bed sheets, in three different sizes and twelve different colors. They had found something to sell for a fundraiser that is an essential, practical, item, that isn’t perishable, and that can also be very nice quality, so people don’t feel like they’re wasting money.

The initial reaction from some parents was not happy. However, the school assured them that no one would be required to participate, and no school instructional or extra-curricular time would be sacrificed for pushing sales. They just put the sheets sets out there, for people to buy if they wanted to.

They were thrilled with their results and were shocked at how much they raised by just offering it – more than $2,400. According to Jamie Folz, PTO President, “Parents ended up thrilled, because they didn’t feel like it was a fundraiser. They just had the option to buy something really nice if they wanted to. We are excited to sell the sheets again! Many families were on board to sell and buy the sheets because they feel wonderful, come in a variety of colors, and are reasonably priced! You can’t beat the value, and parent satisfaction!”

That was in November, and they are going to run another Amadora fundraiser in the spring.

Non-profit fundraising is a huge challenge, in any circumstances, because so often the same people are asked to buy non-essential, or even relatively useless items again and again, and if people do not feel that they are getting something of value, often they would rather just make a direct donation – but then they feel that they have already donated, so giving can dry up. AmadoraGiftOfLove.com has found a very workable solution to this, in selling luxury bed sheets at discount prices.
