The combination of the new features, with the Web viewer and the greatly improved data model, will provide an even greater value to our customers and will further expand the true value of an insurance-specific solution.

InsFocus Systems has just released version 2.0 of its category-leading InsFocus BI insurance business intelligence solution, an update that brings InsFocus to the Web, while adding lots of other functionalities.

The new version’s emphasis is on the Web. InsFocus BI Web is an entirely new, built from-the-ground-up, Web viewer, which allows viewing all InsFocus reports directly within the browser. Designed around the newest standards, including HTML5 and CSS3, and sporting a sleek new UI design, InsFocus BI Web is the next step forward when it comes to insurance business intelligence.

InsFocus BI Web supports all modern Web browsers, including Internet Explorer 9, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Apple Safari. It is completely zero-footprint, leveraging the latest technologies including ASP .NET MVC and jQuery, making it super-fast and responsive. Using a unique tab-based approach, it allows viewing and manipulating of any InsFocus report.
The new version also contains major infrastructure, content and scalability improvements. Amongst these are the moving of system definitions from XML to databases, support for multiple application servers, report searching in the Windows and Web clients, support for SQL Server full-text indexing, and an announcements and information mechanism.

Accompanying the new version is InsFocus Data Model 2.0, which has been greatly enhanced with internal and customers’ feedback. The model now contains more than 300 items (report building blocks) and more than 70 dimensions. A revamped report library is part of the new model as well. The library contains 172 pre-defined reports, which assist insurance companies to improve their performance, including reports for marketing, underwriting, claims, reinsurance, actuarial work, financial analysis and audit. All reports can further be customized by clients to their needs.

Speaking of InsFocus BI’s new Web viewer, Hanan Taiber, CTO of InsFocus Systems, says that “We’ve worked very hard on our Web viewer, as we wanted to build a version that is totally optimized for the Web, including the latest and emerging standards, that will have a fresh and modern UI and that can work fast just as a desktop application.”

“We are truly excited about this new version”, says Uri Taiber, CEO of InsFocus Systems. “The combination of the new features, with the Web viewer and the greatly improved data model, will provide an even greater value to our customers and will further expand the true value of an insurance-specific solution.”
