“We have assembled a team of technical experts to support the Army, and we are committed to helping them meet established government service requirements.”

Serco Inc., a provider of professional, technology, and management services to the federal government, announced today that the Company has been awarded a contract to perform the full range of technical support services for sustainment and operations of the Active Army Strength Forecaster (A2SF) System. The new five-year contract has a one-year base period and four one-year options with a value of $9 million, if all options are exercised.

The A2SF System provides the U.S. Army with a seven-year strength forecast every month, reflecting the trends of Soldiers as the political and military climate changes with respect to wartime requirements, budget constraints, and military compensation entitlements. These forecasts support the seven-year budget process, policy decisions by senior leadership, congressional inquiries, and personnel management decisions.

Serco will use sophisticated algorithms and forecasting models in order to provide the U.S. Army with the accurate forecasting information it needs, as well as delivering operations and maintenance support, data conversion, information assurance and security and training solutions to support the A2SF System.

“This new mission-critical contract win demonstrates the continued support Serco is providing to the U.S. Army,” said Bill Fischer, Vice President of Serco’s Strategy, Learning & Human Capital unit. “We have assembled a team of technical experts to support the Army, and we are committed to helping them meet established government service requirements.”

This contract was awarded under the GSA Alliant contract vehicle, which supports Federal government operational requirements for standardized technology and application service components. Alliant also facilitates the integration requirements for Federal IT initiatives, as well as promotes the sharing, consolidation, and “re-use” of business processes and systems across the Federal government.
