George Jarkesy Radio Show

The George Jarkesy Radio Show announced that Clay Mahaffey, C.F.A. and Chief Analyst of the National Eagles and Angels Association appeared on the show on the Stock Watch Segment last week. The segment which highlights stocks for the individual investor included Anadarko Petroleum and Diamond Foods.

On Friday, March 2nd’s show Mr. Mahaffey noted that the company Anadarko Petroleum’s stock was trading at its twenty year high and also noted that the company has 2.5 billion barrels of proven oil reserves, which works out to about 5 barrels per share. Show host George Jarkesy noted that the company had very low “lifting costs” and Mahaffey commented that the company was “not resting on their laurels” and are in deep water drilling “where the wells are $100 million” to drill. Mr. Mahaffey characterized Anadarko as “really a blue chip company”. Here is the full interview with the market analyst from Fox News.

On Thursday, March 1st, Mr. Mahaffey visited the show and recommended snack food maker Diamond Foods. He mentioned he liked the stock due to its “low valuation and good growth prospectus.” Mahaffey noted the audit problems the company had in November, the fact that Diamond Foods had to re-file their statements for the past two years and that the board fired the C.E.O. and C.F.O. But Mahaffey likes the company at this price because he noted the break-up value of the non-walnut business alone is about two times the price of the entire company. Mahaffey also stated that the board engaged in, “good corporate governance” in letting go the C.E.O. and C.F.O. Here is the full interview with the director of financial regulation studies at the Cato Institute.

“Stock Watch” will be featured on The George Jarkesy Show Monday through Friday. The show starts at 4 PM EST and airs on The Wall Street Business Network and CRN 5. Past shows can be listened to on and Apple iTunes.
