Intelligence Squared U.S. will partner with FORA.tv to present a free live stream of a lively debate that will compare and contrast the model of capitalism in China and the United States. Arguing in favor of the motion are Orville Schell and Peter Schiff, against Ian Bremmer and Minxin Pei. John Donvan of ABC News’ Nightline will moderate the debate.

FORA.tv, the leading online destination for video programs from the world’s best conferences and events, will broadcast the latest Intelligence Squared U.S. (IQ2US) debate, "China Does Capitalism Better Than America.” China seems to have emerged unscathed from the global economic crisis, in stark contrast to its biggest debtor, America. But can its brand of state-directed capitalism overcome rampant corruption and the threat of growing inequality, or will the American model of innovation and free markets prevail?

The debate will be streamed live next Tuesday, March 13th at 6:45 pm EST at http://fora.tv/live/intelligencesquared_us/china. Following the live event, FORA.tv will offer the debate as a free on-demand program. The full video and highlights will be available to share and embed.

In support of the motion are Orville Schell, award-winning journalist and Director of the Center on U.S.-China Relations at Asia Society, and Peter Schiff, CEO and Chief Global Strategist for Euro Pacific Capital. Against the motion are Ian Bremmer, Founder/President of Eurasia Group and author of The J Curve and Minxin Pei, Professor of Government at Claremont McKenna College and author of China’s Trapped Transition.

The moderator will be John Donvan, correspondent for ABC News’ “Nightline.” In a career that spans more than two decades for ABC News, Donvan previously served as the Chief White House Correspondent, along with postings in Moscow, London, Jerusalem and Amman.
