Amongst all of the Irish-themed festivities leading up to St Patrick's Day, Fadó Irish Pub & Restaurant is giving locals the chance to kick-start their celebration with a heartwarming and family-friendly event.
Who:
Fadó (pronounced fuh-doe) Irish Pub & Restaurant was the first Irish pub to be designed and constructed in Ireland and shipped and installed in Columbus. Fadó is distinguished by its genuine Irish hospitality, the quality of its pints, and authentic Irish food and fun.
What:
Fadó is hosting the annual St. Baldrick’s charity event to support childhood cancer research. The restaurant sets up barber chairs and encourages “shavees” to commit to having their heads shaved at the restaurant on Friday, March 16. These “shavees” get family and friends to sponsor their head shave with monetary donations in order to raise funds for The St Baldrick’s Foundation.
St. Baldrick’s is a volunteer-driven charity committed to funding the most promising research to find cures for childhood cancers and giving survivors long and healthy lives.
During the March 9 event, 4 shavees --including 2 Pub managers, Tom Sweeney and Jamie Hurst will kick the charity event off a week early. Live Music with “Hat Trick” to perform.
On March 16, the annual head shaving event will feature over 35 shavees and live music from “These Guys” and “Swagg”
Last year, the “shavees” and volunteers at all the Fadó locations raised more than $500,000 for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation. Since 2002, “shavees” and volunteers at all the Fadó locations have raised more than 4 million dollars.
When:
Friday, March 9 at 6pm – Preliminary Head-shaving Event!
