In 2012 The Lion King musical embarks on its first regional tour and the short breaks tour operator Superbreak has secured excellent ticket allocation for the shows residency at the Bristol Hippodrome and the Manchester Palace theatres. Since it first opened at the Lyceum theatre in 1999 The Lion King has been a staple show of the West End with millions of people visiting London to see this spectacular show. Now for the first time those booking regional theatre breaks can enjoy the magic of the pridelands closer to home. Last year Superbreak saw over 54,570 passengers travel on London theatre breaks, with Lion King at London’s Lyceum theatre being one of the biggest selling theatre shows for 2011.
Working closely with key partners Superbreak has obtained a selection of tickets for the Lion King Tour and partnered them up with a range of quality hotels from their already extensive existing portfolio. The Lion King Tour prices start from £68.25 for budget tickets and overnight accommodation, and with tickets ranging from Top Price to Budget there is something to suit all price bands. The tour will visit the Bristol Hippodrome for eleven weeks from the 31st August to the 17th November 2012 after which it will spend four months at the Manchester Palace theatre from the 1st December 2012 to the 31st March 2013.
The York based company have created a dedicated Lion King page to showcase the new tour dates alongside the existing London show. The addition of The Lion King UK Tour to their theatre break portfolio is a great boost to the operator’s regional theatre breaks. From Dirty Dancing in Cardiff and Birmingham to Phantom of the Opera in Manchester, Dublin and Edinburgh the operator is increasing their already extensive range of theatre breaks to benefit its customers who do not want to travel into London. As usual Superbreak customers have the option to add standard and first class rail travel from any UK mainline station to their theatre break, alongside attraction and sightseeing tickets for their chosen city.
Superbreak's Head of Theatre, David Thomas, commented:"Disney's The Lion King is a doorway in to a world of ravishing beauty, where audiences of all ages are swept away under the spell of sublime music, and sensational performances. One minute you are on the edge of your seats with excitement, the next finds you crying with laughter, but from start to finish the exploits and antics of these wonderful characters have you totally gripped -all thanks to Julie Taymor's astonishing theatrical ingenuity which incorporates masks and puppetry in a unique yet universal experience.”
“Entertainment simply does not get any better than this, and with The Lion King opening in Bristol this summer, and Manchester this December, this unforgettable theatrical experience is now closer to hand and easier on the pocket. Share a theatre break to The Lion King in either Bristol or Manchester and you can also enjoy two days exploring the vibrant culture and stunning surrounding countryside of these exciting cities - and don't forget, The Lion King continues its sell-out run at The Lyceum Theatre, London throughout.”
