Hamrick Software, the developer of VueScan, the world's most widely used scanning software, now supports Windows 8.

"We've had more than 1000 people test VueScan with Windows 8, and we're happy to announce that VueScan fully supports the Intel version of Windows 8" says Ed Hamrick, President of Hamrick Software.
"Many older scanners aren't supported by the manufacturer on Windows 8, and VueScan makes it possible to keep using these scanners - with more features and better scan quality than the software that originally came with the scanner."

VueScan 9.0.85 fully supports Windows 8 and is available today. The x32 version of VueScan works with all versions of Windows 8 and the x64 version of VueScan works with Windows 8 x64.

VueScan 9.0.85 is a free upgrade for all existing Professional Edition customers, and is a free upgrade for existing Standard Edition customers who purchased VueScan less than one year ago.

VueScan supports more than 1850 scanners, and is available for Mac OS X, Windows and Linux.
VueScan offers a full range of advanced features; including options for scanning faded slides and prints and automatically adjusting images to optimum color balance that reduces the need to manually do it in Photoshop. It includes built-in IT8 color calibration of scanners, producing colors that look true to life, batch scanning and other advanced and powerful scanning and productivity features, including PDF output.

VueScan is available in two editions, Standard Edition ($39.95 USD) and Professional Edition ($79.95).
The Professional Edition adds unlimited free upgrades, advanced IT8 color calibration and support for raw scan files. Multi-user licenses are available. A fully functional, trial copy of VueScan can be downloaded from:
